headspace Corio is now open!

On Tuesday, the 2nd of May we proudly commenced service delivery at headspace Corio!

We are incredibly excited by our brand-new space to support young people in the Corio / North Geelong region.

headspace Corio is an extension of the headspace Geelong parent centre and will provide better access to essential mental health services to young people aged 12-25.

headspace Corio offers a range of services to support young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, as well as work and study support.

The centre will operate as a satellite service, connected to the headspace Geelong parent centre, which will provide clinical governance, supervision and support to the Corio team.

The Corio service is funded by the Commonwealth government, through Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN), and is delivered by Stride Mental Health, a highly experience mental health provider.

Stride has successfully operated the headspace Geelong centre and overseen the service at headspace Ocean Grove since June 2022, alongside eight other headspace centres and satellites in Queensland and New South Wales.

The new headspace satellite will be open three days per week from 9am to 5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

headspace accepts referrals from any source, including self-referrals, family or friends, schools, health professionals, and community service providers.

Help is also available via phone and online counselling service eheadspace seven days a week between 9am–1am (AEDT). The number is 1800 650 890.

If you’re looking for someone to talk to immediately, Lifeline (13 11 14) and Kids Helpline (1800 551 800) are available to talk 24/7.
