$65,000 raised for hG Social Inclusion Project
Last Friday, May 18, three hundred members of the Geelong business community came together for the headspace Geelong Business Charity Luncheon. The Luncheon was put together by the Rotary Club of Belmont who had spent many months event planning, sourcing donations, promoting the event and selling tickets to ensure the day was a success. And what a success it was, with $65,000 raised for the hG Social Inclusion Project, an assertive outreach program providing one on one support and group sessions to high risk young people who may not otherwise seek help.
The attendees enjoyed fine food from the CATS hospitality team and live entertainment from Andy Pobjoy, of the Piano Bar Geelong, In the GMHBA Stadium President’s room. They were also treated to an inspirational video featuring the hG clinician who runs the Social Inclusion Project, Jason Stones, with one of the clients from the program as well as a moving presentation from Nick Bracks, a mental health ambassador and Co-Founder of Happy Waves.
headspace Geelong would like to thank everyone involved in the event, which will ensure the Social Inclusion Project continues, especially everyone from the Belmont Rotary Club, Tom King for his fantastic work as MC, Tony McManus for encouraging the crowd to dig deep as auctioneer, John Rothfield for donating his time to speak, everyone who donated auction and raffle items to the event, those involved in the production of the Social Inclusion Project video, Nick Bracks for sharing his story and the events Community Partners, the Geelong Football Club, Bendigo Business Bank and Morris Finance… Phew.. we are so thankful for all your support!
