headspace Noarlunga provides support and free mental health counselling for young people 12 - 25 years who are going through a tough time or are worried about their mental health. It is really easy to refer - just give us a  call on 08 8384 9284 and ask to speak to a duty worker or fill out the referral form . If you are a GP please complete a mental health treatment plan and fax to 08 8384 9285

headspace Noarlunga is committed to youth participation. Our Youth Reference Group is a diverse team of young people that attend and coordinate events in addition to providing consultation and guidance to the staff of headspace Noarlunga. Mental Health Servicesclose

Mental health workers – which may include psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other workers – that can help if you're just not feeling yourself.

Doctor (GP)close

GPs can help with any physical health issues as well as issues related to sexual health, drug or alcohol use, relationship problems or feeling down or upset. Your centre may have a GP on site or links to one locally. 

Alcohol & Drug Servicesclose

Workers either on site or linked to the centre who can assist you with any alcohol or other drug issue. 

Youth Reference Groupclose

A group of young people who help with events and some decision making at a centre. Ask your centre about getting involved.

Youth Participation and Volunteering

headspace Noarlunga is committed to youth participation. There are various ways in which young people can get involved in headspace Noarlunga:

headspace Noarlunga Youth Reference Group (hNYRG) 

hNYRG is a diverse team of young people aged between 17 and 25 years old, that attend and coordinate events in addition to providing consultation and guidance to the staff of headspace Noarlunga in order to maintain the centre's youth focus.

Currently there are no vacancies for the hNYRG, however if you are interested in future recruitment, please express your interest via info@headspacenoarlunga.org.au and we will keep you posted.

Talkin’ About Your headspace Youth Ambassadors (TAYhYA) 

TAYhYA works in partnership with headspace Adelaide and includes members aged between 18 and 25 years old, who are enrolled at university or involved with sports clubs.  Their role is to present at schools, sports clubs and other community members about headspace and introduce mental health concepts.

The aims of both of our volunteer groups are to:

  • Reduce the stigma surrounding mental health
  • Encourage early help seeking
  • Improve mental health literacy
  • Improve the knowledge of where to access youth specific information and resources of services headspace offer to young people, family and friends, carers, professionals and academics working in the youth and health sector
  • Promote early recognition of mental health issues among teachers, family and friends and support staff
  • Create partnerships with local organisations and members of the community
  • Create conversation locally
  • Strengthen the headspace brand

Student Assignments

We understand that students are keen to know more about headspace Noarlunga and the services we offer. If you are interested in interviewing one of our team members for information about headspace to be included in your assignment, please send your assignment cover sheet and interview questions to be reviewed to info@headspacenoarlunga.org.au

Important notes to students:

  • Interview questions must be based ONLY on headspace services
  • Interviews are open to all Secondary, Tafe and University students
  • We cannot participate in last minute requests, so please ensure you allow a few weeks to process your request
  • All interviews must be done face-to-face and may include a behind the scenes centre tour
  • Pending your interview questions and topics, from time-to-time we may recommend one of our organisation partners for you to interview in place of headspace Noarlunga
  • In high demand periods we may organise once off group interviews instead of one-on-one interviews with one of our team members
  • Due to time and resource constraints, we cannot respond to all interview requests
The headspace Team

Our staff are experienced and passionate about working with young people.

The team consists of different workers including:

  • our lovely administration staff who keep us organised,
  • our duty and intake workers who will see young people to help them decide what kind of support they need,
  • our mental health clinicians who provide counselling for young people and support families and friends,
  • our community engagement leaders who facilitate the youth reference group and attend community events,
  • and our team leader and manager who get to make all the important decisions!

At this stage we are not able to facilitate student or volunteer placements, but we hope to in the future.

headspace Noarlunga works with consortium partners and a lead agency. Our partners are local agencies dedicated to providing the best outcomes for young people.

Community Engagement and Resources

headspace Noarlunga actively participates in the community to promote positive mental health. If you would like us to come along to your event, workshop or donate headspace resources to your organisation, please complete this form and allow a minimum of two weeks to process your request. Our Youth Reference Group reviews all community engagement and resource requests.

Mental Health Workshops and Presentations

headspace Noarlunga in partnership with headspace Adelaide offers workshops to schools, sporting clubs and community organisations through our Talkin' About Your headspace Youth Ambassadors (TAYhYA) volunteer program. 

Our Youth Ambassadors are a diverse team of young people who are enrolled at university and/or participate in a sports club. Their primary role is to present workshops about headspace and other mental health topics.

Our workshops utilise the latest interactive audience clicker system, information slides, videos and group activities.

Schools and community organisations can request a workshop by completing this request formPlease allow for a minimum of two weeks to process your request.

Sports clubs that are interested in a workshop can express interest by email to volunteers@headspaceadelaide.org.au 

Partnerships, donations and fundraising

headspace Noarlunga is always looking to partner with community and corporate organisations, headspace Noarlunga accepts support on both a large and small scale. There are a number of ways that an organisation can support the work of headspace Noarlunga:

  • Make a donation to support the work of headspace Noarlunga
  • Hold a fundraising event
  • Get involved in an ongoing partnership
  • Support headspace Noarlunga in-kind
  • Sponsor a headspace Noarlunga event
  • Start a workplace giving scheme to support the work of headspace Noarlunga
