headspace Horsham celebrates its first Birthday

headspace Horsham commemorated its first Birthday with a celebration on Friday 15 June 2018 with guests who included leading community figures.

The celebrations, organised by the Youth Reference Group for the Horsham Centre, was  attended by Horsham Rural City Council Mayor Pam Clarke and the Member of Lowan, Emma Kealy.

The event included a cake cutting and an art project which will feature at headspace Horsham to mark the special occasion.

The headspace Horsham Centre opened its doors in May 2017 and was officially launched in August 2017. The team worked hard to manage the fitout of the Centre which incorporated valuable input from the youth reference group into the look and feel of the centre.

Centre Manager Liz Rowe said that the Horsham Centre provides a number of programs dedicated to improving the wellbeing of young people across the Horsham region.

“The Horsham Youth Reference Group introduced a number of unique initiatives to our Centre which included a virtual tour, social events for young people and some outstanding fundraising initiatives,” Ms Rowe said.

headspace has already made a significant difference to the lives of many young people across Australia and we aim to continue that work with all young people in and around The Wimmera.”
