Are you interested in learning how you can make a difference for young people in our region? We are currently seeking a Manager for Children Youth and Families in Emerald to lead our new headspace team.  This role is full time, paying $114,000 p/a + superannuation + salary sacrifice.

headspace Emerald:

headspace is an innovative youth service delivering access to primary and mental health, alcohol and drug services, social welfare and vocational services for young people aged 12-25 years. The service is based on early identification and effective, evidence-based intervention delivered by primary care and specialist providers working together within an accessible and integrated service framework.

The purpose of the Manager: Children Youth and Families position is to lead, develop, implement, oversee, and manage the operations of headspace Emerald, along with the oversight of the Counselling and Youth Programs. The role is also responsible for growing the portfolio and ensuring program sustainability over the short, medium, and long term.

As this role has a strong leadership focus, a personal commitment and passion for excellence is essential. This position requires a highly motivated and capable person who is passionate about working with young people and committed to their health and wellbeing, and who will facilitate excellence in integrated, holistic health care, with the goal of improving outcomes for participants of the service and the wider community.

The incumbent will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure all activities are in accordance with the headspace grant agreement, and the guidance provided by the Lead Agency, headspace National Office, Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast Primary Health Network, Consortium partners, Youth Reference Group and Family & Friends Reference Group. Further to this they will work closely with other State and Federal funders.

This is a full-time position, which will be situated in the newly established facility in Emerald.  Travel throughout the region is required. Flexibility to attend community events after hours and on weekends will be well regarded.

 

Candidates that will best succeed in this position will have:

  • Degree level qualifications in allied health, behavioural/social sciences, youth work, mental health nursing, or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience at a managerial level
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business or health / social services.
